Industrial News

With many valuable components—from protein and oil to hulls and meal—soybeans offer manufacturers a reliable source of alternatives to traditional ingredients in many products on the market today.

ISA understands Americans’ focus on reducing our reliance on nonrenewable resources such as petroleum-based products, especially those made from foreign oil. To achieve this goal, more manufacturers need access to local, sustainable and renewable resources such as soybeans.

Not only will these bio-based products provide the opportunity to use millions of bushels of soybeans every year, but they also will be more cost effective since soybean prices are more economical than current petroleum prices. Bio-based products also provide environmental benefits that help industries reach additional sustainability goals.

Why Produce Soy Biodiesel?

Biodiesel gives everyone in Illinois plenty to get pumped up about from reducing emissions and offering savings at the pump to creating jobs and markets.

A Rational Case for Getting Excited about Biodiesel
Each gallon of biodiesel produced is one less gallon of foreign oil we need to import, and the less we import, the closer we get to energy independence. Plus, it's a greener alternative and offers improved performance. Watch this video to get pumped up on the advantages of biodiesel!

Tax Incentives

Blends of 11 Percent or More Receive Full Tax Exemption in Illinois
Since 2003, Illinois has offered a sales tax incentive for the use of biodiesel blends - helping expand the market for this cleaner burning, renewable fuel.

Locate Biodiesel at the Pump
